Instituto Boliviano de investigación Forestal (IBIF)
We are a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to forestry research. Our main objective is to generate forest management tools based on research results. The investigations are carried out in a National Network of Permanent Plots, established in areas under forest management located in different types of forest in the country.
The first achievement obtained is the increase in the number and stability of the staff working in the IBIF. It started with 5 people who worked part time, all of them specialized in a single discipline. Now we have more than 15 people who contribute to the institution with different disciplines. Before we were only forestry ecologists who formed the IBIF, now we have ecologists, biologists, foresters, geographers and communicators.
